Dr. R.K. Bhatt is presently working as Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science of University of Delhi since 01.01.2009. An erudite academician, profilic writer, excellent orator and multifaceted personality has earned dual PhDs and distinguished professional earned accolades for his subject expertise. He is credited for contributing 11 books, 9 edited books, over 180 research papers/articles published in peer reviewed journals, international journals, editorial books, conference proceedings etc.  Dr. Bhatt was the  Editor of a reputed Journal entitled, "Journal of Library and Information Science" of the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Delhi for three years during his tenure as HOD.  Dr. Bhatt was the Guest Editor of one of the issue of the Journal Library Progress International. In addition, he have had delivered more than 100 invited talks, key note address, lecturers and chaired considerable number conference sessions of national and international conferences along with holding high positions in board of studies, curriculum development committees, UGC-Net workshops, Selection Committees etc. of several academic institutions and universities of central and state governments. He is an excellent teacher holding specialization in areas of Marketing of LIS Products and Services, History of Libraries in India and Unesco's contribution in development of libraries and documentation centres, Academic library system, Library Cataloguing Theory and Practice, etc. Prior to joining the University of Delhi, Dr. Bhatt served as Assistant Librarian (SG) for about eight years at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.  Dr. Bhatt also served the University of Delhi as  Head of the LIS Department from December 2007 to December 2010. As HOD of the Department he successfully organized several national and international programmes such as `KABUL TRAINING PROGRAMME: An International Academic Venture of Governments of India and Afghanistan, Seminar on `Relevance of Ranganathan's Philosophy in Present Era (2009) and `Ranganathan's Vision for Academic Libraries  (2010), Two Refresher Courses in Library and Information Science in collaboration with CPDHE, DU. Another milestone was achieved during his able mentorship by revision of  the curriculums of Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLISc) and Master of Library and Information Science (MLISc) after 15 years.  His prodigious writing truly reflects through 11 books, 9 edited books, over 140 research papers/articles published in peer reviewed journals, international journals, editorial books, conference proceedings etc.  Dr. Bhatt was the  Editor of a reputed Journal entitled, "Journal of Library and Information Science" of the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Delhi for three years during his tenure as HOD.  Dr. Bhatt was the Guest Editor of one of the issue of the Journal Library Progress International.
